多少教科書的（？）だけど、仮定法過去をとりあげるには
これほど良い教材もないでしょう。
エリック・クラプトン、Unplugged収録の"Tears in Heaven"より。
「仮定法過去」と呼ばれるように、
「現実と反対の仮定」や「実現しそうにない仮定」を表す場合は、
if＋S＋過去形 ～， S＋would(could/should/might) ～.
で表し、「もし～だったら、～なのになぁ」と訳します。
今回のフレーズは、その疑問文の形。
ちなみに、2行目の主語"it"は、前回もやった通り、特別意味のないitですね。
訳すと、こんな感じ。
「もし天国できみに会ったら、私の名前を覚えていてくれるだろうか？
もし天国できみに会ったら、何も変わらないままだろうか？」
有名だけど、これはクラプトンが事故で亡くなった息子に捧げた歌。
息子に捧げるために歌ってた以降、最近は全く歌っていないことでも有名。
